I met the founders of MELA FOR HER back in November 2019 when I partook in a project up-skilling mute and deaf female sewers in Addis Ababa. I quickly fell in love with the project. As I learnt more about the ethos of MELA FOR HER and saw the impact of their work on women and girls’ lives, I decided to become part of the team. The sanitary pads produced by the MELA FOR HER are unique pieces, hand-made with a lot of love by Ethiopian young women, some coming from very vulnerable situations, who have been trained and supported by Mae Maze.

MELA products are good for the health, for the pocket, for the environment and for the society. They are not only affordable, comfortable, safe and reusable, but also beautiful. Since the beginning we believed that all women and girls deserved the most beautiful pads in the world.

This collaboration between MAE MAZE and MELA FOR HER is very special.  Investing in girls means investing in the future. Empowering girls with products but also with education is a powerful tool to enable girls to build the future they wish.

 

MELA FOR HER has launched a crowdfunding action to donate at least 1,000 reusable sanitary pads to vulnerable school girls in Ethiopia, so they do not miss any opportunity in their life because of their periods.
